Ahnapee Institute is SOLD OUT! Look for similar events in the future!
Join us for our first Ahnapee Institute of Higher Beer Learning (and drinking)! This session will be hosted in Algoma a focus on six different subcategories of Stouts. Our first casual class will take place on Saturday, November 16th starting at 11am at the Algoma taproom. We will learn a little about the history of Stouts, what ingredients are used, and brewing methods employed to create this unique and diverse beer style, along with sampling multiple different Stouts.
Now that there is a chill in the air, it is a perfect time to grab your favorite Stout and relax. Class will begin with a glass of our Two Stall Chocolate Stout and then we will move to sample and discuss 5 other subcategories within in the Stout category. While we wont be handing out diplomas or certificates upon completion, you will leave with the assurance that you know more than most of your friends!
Included in the $20 ticket price, each participant will receive 5oz samples of six different stouts which we will do a guided tasting for each. We’ll be featuring Two Stall as one of the 6, and the remaining 5 will be other commercial examples of other Stout subcategories (selections may include Oatmeal Stout, Coffee Stout, Dry Stout, Barrel Aged Stout, etc).
